1. The village Square.

The Village Square, set under the grape vines with the magnificent backdrop of St. Demetrios Chapel and is an ideal venue to have your ceremony in a mediterranean setting that feels like you are in a Greek Island.

  The Love Story

- How they met

Dan was working at the Chorley Tesco store for a number of years, when I moved to the store on management placement. He was chatting and flirting from the off, so passed him my number and arranged a date at the cinema which was a great night J!!

- How he proposed

Although, I would like to say he whisked me off to Paris and took me to the top of the Eiffel Tower, he didn’t. It was out of the blue that he got down on one knee and proposed. I never suspected a thing, and the engagement ring he got me was perfect.

- Why they chose Cyprus to get married

Dan is a catholic, and had a religious upbringing, and wanted to get married in a church, which I can understand, but I always wanted to get married somewhere beautiful, with sunshine guaranteed. We decided to go to Cyprus as they offer catholic weddings, and it is a beautiful country, and really liked the look of Paphos. Our original choice was to go to Alexandra the Great, but we are so glad we changed our minds!

Incredible and perfect!!

Before we got top Paphos, Dan told me not to cry on the wedding day, then he bloody did!!
Georgie and Christine (Aeolos Rep) where absolutely brilliant. We were concerned that, as there was not a lot of the regular wedding planning stress that seems to go on at home, that our first few days in Cyprus would be very stressful, that we would be spending a lot of our time in offices arranging the wedding and reception, and not be able to relax on holiday. This was further from the truth. We had a couple of meetings, maximum of an hour each time, and all the stress was taken away.


On the day, everything went to plan (apart from Dan losing his trousers before the ceremony!!). The hotel waiters and bar staff (especially Alexandrou) were fabulous on the day and night, and we couldn’t have dreamed a better day. Also a big thank you to Nicky Kirby who took our photos for the day, leaving us with plenty of great memories.
The only problem is, we will never experience a day as perfect at that again L !!

Amazing!!Clean, tidy, beautiful, magnificent etc. Both us, the boys and our family members who stayed in the hotel all agree it was one of the best hotels and holidays they have had.
The rooms were clean, cool, spacious and cleaned regularly, the pool was great for the kids (both young and old!) and was good to see them closed when required (nappy faults) – putting the guests safety first.

Restaurants, again spotless, beautiful food and so many different options every day.
Staff – all the staff from reception to waiters to bar staff to the reps to the cleaners and grounds keepers – all of them looked happy to be working there and were always happy to help.

I would recommend that you issue do not disturb door hooks to the rooms, as the cleaners got a couple of, should I say ‘nice’ surprises on a couple of occasions! But they were always happy to come back when we were a bit more decent!
We are already looking at booking here again in a few years (and persuading some of the family to have their wedding in Cyprus at the Alitathon!!)

                 The Love Story

Me and chris met when I was 15 and he was 16, we were friends for about a year before we got together!! We were each others first love and I knew straight away I'd be spending the rest of my life with him!! So after 4 years being together (2005) one Xmas he asked me to marry him....after asking my dads permission of course lol we knew it would be a long engagement as we were still young at 21 so we said when were 30 well get married :)

In 2008 we welcomed our first baby, Connor and in 2011 we welcomed our little girl Amelia. We decided not long after we had Amelia that we would get married the year chris turned 30 (2014) so we started looking around at venues in the Uk but to us it wasn't what we wanted, we quickly decided with getting married abroad and cyprus was number 1 on our list!! We'd never been to cyprus before but after seeing what a beautiful island it is we booked to get married at the Aliathon holiday village in paphos....it was the best decision we'd ever made!! 

 

 

 

                                                             The Aliathon Wedding Experience

 

The whole experience - holiday and wedding, I could not have asked for better. Everything was absolutely perfect!! I had been in contact with Georgie by email for a year before the wedding and every time she replied very quickly and always so helpful! Georgie and her mom, Sue the wedding coordinator was amazing like my fairy god mothers lol they made our day run so smoothly and completely put us both at ease, nothing was too much trouble!! We felt like royalty how everyone had treated us. The whole day ran so smoothly, I was so calm the whole day...until i heard that chris was nervous and abit emotional that set me off but again Georgie was there keeping him calm :) I wish I could go back and do it all again and I wouldn't change anything!!

The holiday itself at the Aliathon again was brilliant and I will defo be returning soon we all loved it there our friends want to arrange a reunion for in a couple years time. All the kids that was with our party absolutely loved the place!! I couldn't give this hotel a better review, the food was lovely, the location was perfect the whole experience was amazing and I'm so happy it's part of mine and chris' story, it was the PERFECT icing on the cake.

The wedding of the year...

Yesterday we celebrated the most romantic wedding/vow renewal of the year!!! Steven and Sally renewed their vows in the pool in the rain!

Steven suffers from a rare illness and wanted to do something special for his wife to remind her how much he loved her. So Stephen with the help of the staff and management of the Aliathon along with the staff from First Choice and our lovely guests arranged for the ceremony to take place as a surprise for Sally. We picked the date, bought the rings, ordered the flowers and the champagne, helped Steven get ready and yesterday at 14:30, in the  rain, in the pool Steven reminded Sally just how grateful he was to have her in his life.

It was the most touching and romantic gesture we have seen all year and we wish Sally and Steven all the best for their future.
