This day is dedicated to the sinful women who was forgiven from her sins because she showed great faith in the Lord......
Holy Wednesday based on the tradition has two different celebrations.
The first one is relevant to the story of Mary Magdalen the sinful women who anoints Jesus' feet and wiped them away with her hair..
In the morning everyone is going to the church to listen the Hymn of the Fallen Woman, which tells the story of Mary Magdalen and the forgiveness of her sins.
This hymn is chanted only once a year and considered a musical high-point of the Holy Week.
The same day after the hymn of the Fallen Woman people remain at the church to listen the priest reading the Seven Gospels.
The Seven Gospels are read along with seven wishes in order to bless the oil we use to treat mental and physical illnesses.
After the sequence of the Gospels the priest is crossing the faithfuls with oil on their forehead, their cheeks, face and hands.
