Aliathon's Corporate Social Responsibility
The CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of Aliathon Holiday Village is the aim to embrace responsibility for our actions and encourage a positive impact through our activities on the environment, consumers, employees, and communities.
1. Our Managers Engagement with local professional organisations
a)Mr Themis is the president of the Paphos Hotel’s Association. Most recently Mr Themis made a speech at the World tourism Day in Geroskipou.
b)Mrs Galatia; the Hotel’s General Manager is also the president of BPW (Business and Professional Women) Paphos club. As part of this club, Mrs Galatia participated in the International NGO Forum for Women’s Rights which was held in New York.
2. Charities/donations
a) Splashathon
Together with First Choice we have organised Splashathon days here at the Aliathon.
b)Donations to a local charity (KIVOTOS) are made. KIVOTOS is a local non profit organisation based in Paphos helping children with special needs
- A donation was made for a music event they were holding (25/07/2012).
- Aliathon also provides the venue for KIVOTOS to host their events such as the Fashion show which takes place twice a year.
3.Workshops and educational visits are held at the hotel (sustainable tourism etc)
a) Workshops (i.e. HACCP)
b) Staff training
Training and the continuous development of our staff is of vital importance to the Aliathon. Staff are sent on training courses, seminars and workshops. This year alone the training included First Aid and Life saving, Health and Safety, Dynamic Hospitality and Marketing using effective eTourism Strategies, Good to Great (Meeting customers’ expectations and exceeding customer expectations), Digital Travel Marketing and more.
c) Educational Visits
d)Various events for our staff are organised throughout the year (dinners, BBQs, football matches etc)
4. Promoting our culture and traditions
a) Every Saturday we organise a Greek or Cypriot night with traditional food, treats and traditional dancers.
b) During Easter we organise traditional events where our customers can experience the true Cypriot Easter traditions. Guests can watch, taste and get involved with making traditional Easter cakes and more.
5. Recruitment of local employees
The hotel recognizes the importance of recruiting local people as employees, thus providing secondary economic benefits to the community business. The Aliathon believes that this policy helps preserve the vita community fabric that forms part of our unique hospitality product. In turn this will also help the community and local business from community taxes and consumer spending.
We are always trying to support our community , promote our culture and invest in our staff in order to create an team of people that go above and beyond not only for the performance of the hotel but for it's impact in the society and environment.
